Advisors – What’s Your LinkedIn Score?

Did you know LinkedIn has a great tool to measure how effective you are at establishing your professional brand, finding the right people, and engaging with others?

LinkedIn released their Social Selling Index (SSI) to members which gives you a quick snapshot of how you compare to your peers in four essential areas. Your score is updated daily and is derived from the following key elements.

  • Your Professional Brand
  • The Right People – Your Target Market
  • Insight Engagement
  • Relationships
Why Is This Important?

You can see in the diagram below, I received 77 points out of 100.

Although my score could be improved, the results also tell me that I am in the top 1% of my industry and the top 4% in my network.

The results tell me I am doing well in establishing my professional brand and building relationships.  I need to improve finding more of the right people and insight engagement. Let’s take a look at some tips to improve each of the categories:

  • Your Professional Brand
    • Complete your profile with your ideal client in mind. Become a thought leader by publishing relevant and informative posts.
  • The Right People – Your Target Market
    • Utilize the search and research tools in LinkedIn to identify potential prospects
  • Insight Engagement
    • Share relevant and informative updates to strengthen relationships
  • Relationships
    • Solidify your network by connecting and establishing trust with key decision makers

Go ahead and take a look at your score. Sign in to your LinkedIn account and then click this link. Identify areas you are doing well and the areas you need to focus your attention.
